Made for the January 2024 Pirate Software Game Jam :)

A plague has infested the castle and you must cleanse the infected of the darkness. If the population of 50 all become infected you will succumb to the darkness.

Controls/Guide:

 - WASD to move

-F to pick up infected

-E to interact

-Esc for settings

-Use collected nodes at the altar in your lab to purchase abilities

Surgery:

Crystal - Detects location of infection

Scalpel - Makes incision (Patient will begin to bleed out)

Vinegar - Purifies wound and reduces blood loss

Bowl - Drains infected fluid allowing forceps to grab nodule quicker

Forceps - Pulls out and collects nodule. If one is not present patient will lose blood.

Paste - Seals open wounds, stopping blood loss.


Developer notes:

  • I tried to include a web version, but  it wasn't responsive enough to register certain actions. Will test some potential solutions out after judging.

the room transistions are super cool! Unfortunately is seems the guide button is broken for me. I wasnt able to figure out the goal of the game. The setting, sound, and movement felt really good though.

Thank you for checking it out!! :) Yeah I think the guide was something I wasn't able to get fully implemented so I didn't end up connecting the button at all. 

The basics are if you can get infections down to 0/(the population) then you win, but if the full population of 50 gets infected you lose. You pick up the infected (green npcs) with "F" then put them on the surgery tables and operate on them with a little minigame.

Gave it another go with the provided information, and it is very engaging. I found myself cutting up bodies before knowing how to identify limbs but thats a learning process. Really cool concept!
